The Connecticut Department of Public Health's Marketing Communications Office seeks a Visual Media Designer 1 to create compelling video, graphic design, and multimedia content for diverse audiences across the state. This hybrid role at 410 Capitol Avenue in Hartford involves collaborating with communications specialists and community engagement staff to produce public health storytelling that reaches Connecticut residents. The position is part of an expanding creative team developing new multimedia capabilities, including a podcast studio and digital content strategy.
Keyqualifications:
- Four years of experience in commercial or illustration art, or engineering drafting
- Proficiency with graphic design software including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or Canva
- Video planning, filming, and editing experience using Adobe Premiere Pro or similar software
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Experience creating public health, government, or nonprofit communications for diverse audiences with attention to accessibility
- Ability to work collaboratively on multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
