Overview

Our service operations positions are an excellent opportunity for an early‑career or seasoned customer service professional to join our Retail Organization. Our retail program supports our annuity business. We have an exciting opportunity available to support the Retail Organization as a Service Specialist.

This individual will deliver superior customer service to our valued customers, contract owners and financial advisors. Additionally, they will execute customer requests and educate partners on our annuity products. Superior customer service for agent’s onboarding, annuity policy issuance, money movement, handling inbound customer calls and processing written requests are just a few of the exciting elements of these new roles!

Our selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid work arrangement at our Hartford, Connecticut office or remotely.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate professional diplomacy and deliver a positive customer service experience for inbound calls with our customers, contract owners and financial advisors.
  • Successfully execute customer requests while navigating a fast‑paced structured environment.
  • Support the processing of written requests ad hoc.
  • Demonstrate active listening and critical thinking skills to quickly assess the customers’ request and leverage online resources to provide an appropriate solution.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Strong preference will be given to individuals who have experience navigating multiple applications and dual monitors within a customer service environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop positive and productive customer relationships.
  • Ability to multi‑task (type and talk at the same time while navigating through multiple screens).
  • Proven success working in a fast‑paced and structured environment.
  • Ability to navigate multiple programs and effectively use online resources.
  • Knowledge of annuities, 401k products, life insurance, mutual funds or stock market activity is preferred.
  • Experience with PEGA, FAST, Hexure, and Fire Light is a plus.

Note:

This role will require 10% travel yearly to our Hartford, CT. office. Selected work hours for this position will be 9:30 a.m.

- 6:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.

- 5:00 p.m. eastern time.

Compensation

This range represents the minimum and maximum annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range. The base pay is based on factors including but not limited to experience, competence, and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role. The base pay is just one component of Talcott’s total annual compensation for employees.

Other compensation may include annual bonuses, long‑term incentives and recognition.
