Wendel is a national firm that collaborates with public entities to design public safety facilities. We are experienced in fire and police station design, completing over 400 projects and publishing in industry journals.
Our public safety design team seeks a mid- to senior‑level design professional to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑focused environment. We may consider candidates working from Connecticut or New York State offices.
We are looking for a candidate who can:
- Develop projects from concept through construction with other design professionals.
- Mentor entry‑level architects in design and technical documentation.
- Attend project and client meetings and represent the firm in industry events and conferences.
- Contribute to business development, including proposal creation and client expectation management.
- Maintain strong technical design and detailing skills with a comprehensive understanding of architectural specifications, international building codes, life safety code, and ADA requirements.
- Work independently and solve problems remotely.
- Hold a 4‑ or 5‑year degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Have 6–14 years of design and construction administration experience with at least 5 years in fire and/or police station projects.
- Be proficient with design and construction software such as Autodesk Revit, Bluebeam, Procore, Sketch Up, etc.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $115,000 (subject to experience, education, and regional factors).
