A trusted advisor to clients seeking to rehabilitate and preserve historic properties. This role supports preservation planning, historic tax credit applications, National Register nominations, regulatory review, and coordination with local, state, and federal preservation agencies.

Required Skills- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Historic Preservation, Preservation Architecture, Architectural History, or a related field.
- Preferred five (5) years of professional experience in historic preservation, preservation architecture, architectural history, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
- Experience preparing and coordinating Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit applications, including interaction with State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPO), preferred.
- Experience preparing historic preservation reports, condition assessments, treatment plans, and preservation documentation.
- Familiarity with National Register of Historic Places nominations, preservation planning, and historic resource documentation.
- Working knowledge of Section 106 review processes and applicable local, state, and federal preservation regulations preferred.
- Knowledge of historic building materials, traditional construction methods, and preservation best practices.
- Strong research, technical writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, and project teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Write historic preservation technical reports for the built environment, including condition assessment reports, historic preservation treatment plans, and other preservation documentation.
- Prepare and coordinate Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit applications, including Federal Parts 1, 2, and 3 submissions and State Parts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 submissions.
- Serve as the firm's primary liaison to the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), preservation agencies, review boards, and funding organizations.
- Participate in the Environmental Review Process (Section 106) for state- and federally funded projects located in designated historic districts, as required.
- Research building histories, historic significance, and preservation requirements; document existing conditions through photography, field investigation, and written assessments.
- Preparation of National Register of Historic Places nominations and other historic preservation documentation.
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, Architects of Record, and project teams to develop preservation strategies that balance historic integrity, project goals, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical, architectural, design, historical, and policy guidance related to historic preservation and rehabilitation projects.
- Assist in writing award nominations for historic preservation projects and provide guidance regarding preservation incentives, grant opportunities, and historic tax credit programs.
