This role reports to the Chief Medical Officer and partners closely with nursing, practice management, and infectious disease leadership to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
This is an opportunity for a board-certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician who is ready to step into a leadership role — even if administrative experience is still developing. Position OverviewThe Clinical Director will oversee the Adult Medicine department’s clinical operations while maintaining an active patient panel. This role blends leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction with hands‑on care delivery.
The department includes a recognized diabetes program, a high-performing Ryan White program, and a strong care coordination team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and departmental oversight
- Deliver high-quality direct patient care
- Partner with Nurse Manager and Practice Manager on operational improvements
- Improve provider workflow, patient satisfaction, and financial performance
- Supervise physicians, APRNs, and PAs
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention, and performance management of providers
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and clinical standards
- Support strategic planning and department growth initiatives
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork
- Analyze and present clinical and operational data to inform decisions
- Contribute to enterprise‑wide initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited medical school
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Eligible for or licensed as a Physician in Connecticut
- Experience delivering care to underserved or medically complex populations
- Comfort supervising advanced practitioners (APRNs, PAs)
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR)
Salary Range: $220,000 – $301,275
