We’re partnering with a school district in Fairfield County, Connecticut to hire a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year
. This position is a Leave of Absence (LOA) coverage
, with immediate availability through the end of the school year (June).

The Special Education Teacher will primarily support students in the general education setting through co-teaching
, while also providing instruction in smaller group settings focused on executive functioning or self-contained core subject areas as needed. The ideal candidate is collaborative, flexible, and experienced working with high school students in inclusive environments.

  • Position: Special Education Teacher – Long-Term Substitute (LTS)
  • Location: In-person, Fairfield County, CT
  • Start Date: Immediate
  • End Date: Through the end of the school year (June)
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (school-based hours)
  • Setting: High School
  • School Year: 2025–2026
Responsibilities
  • Co-teach in general education classrooms to support students with IEPs.
  • Provide small‑group or individualized instruction focused on executive functioning skills.
  • Support instruction in self‑contained core subject classes as assigned.
  • Implement IEP accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and related service providers.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher certification (required or eligible).
  • Experience working with high school students preferred.
  • Familiarity with co‑teaching models and inclusive instructional practices.
  • Strong understanding of IEP implementation and executive functioning supports.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
