Position Summary

Trinity College invites applications for a Director of Social Science Research, a hybrid non‑tenure track administrative faculty position. The role involves teaching a mixed‑methods research course each semester and an additional data analysis or applied data science course annually. Responsibilities include providing individual support for student and faculty research in the social sciences, supporting faculty instruction in social science research methods, and collaborating with the library and information technology staff, the quantitative center, and the advising center.

• Teach one course in mixed methods research each semester.
• Teach a third course each year in data analysis or applied data science.
• Provide individual support for student and faculty research in the social sciences.
• Support faculty for classroom instruction in social science research methods.
• Collaborate with library, IT staff, quantitative center, and advising center.

• Ph.D. in sociology, psychology, economics, political science, or a related social science field.
• Experience with quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research.
• Experience teaching undergraduate courses.
• Experience with community‑engaged research is preferred but not required.
