Position Summary

The purpose of this posting is to create a pool of talented employees for the 2026-27 School Year. CREC seeks Secondary Mathematics teachers for a teaching position at our various magnet schools. Duties

/ Responsibilities
  • Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
  • Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small-group instruction, and student learning.
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for mathematics, translating lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs; conduct individual and small-group instruction as needed.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Teaching / Subject Assignment Specific
  • Deep understanding of mathematical concepts such as Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Statistics.
  • Ability to design and implement engaging, standards‑aligned lesson plans.
  • Skill in differentiating instruction for diverse learners, including those with special needs and English Language Learners (ELLs).
  • Design and implement assignments, assessments, and rubrics that align with standards‑based grading (SBG) to accurately measure and provide feedback on student proficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four‑year college or university in an education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
  • CT Certification:
    Mathematics (029).
Travel Requirements

Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide transportation to meetings, trainings, and professional learning opportunities as required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Work requires prolonged standing/movement, frequent bending and crouching, lifting and carrying materials, fine motor skills, clear speaking voice, good vision and hearing, ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously, and occasional quick response to student needs. Teachers are expected to work both indoors and outdoors and may participate in off‑site field experiences.
