CREC seeks talented Music teachers for the 2026-27 School Year at its magnet schools. The role supports a diverse student body in a social justice mindset setting.
Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Duties / Responsibilities- Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district and national music standards, goals, and objectives.
- Promote a safe and conducive classroom environment for individualized and small‑group instruction.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for Music—specific to grade, instrumental, choral or general music—and translate lesson plans into learning experiences that develop sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize instructional time.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs, including students with special needs; conduct individual and small‑group instruction as needed.
- Plan, coordinate rehearsals for, and direct students in musical programs (including scheduled performances and concerts) and performances outside the classroom.
- Encourage parental involvement and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by school administration.
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) in education or related discipline.
- 049 Certification.
Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or ability to provide transportation to meetings, trainings, and professional learning opportunities as required.
Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentProlonged standing/movement, frequent bending and crouching, lifting and carrying materials, fine motor skills, clear speaking voice, good vision and hearing, ability to focus on multiple tasks, and occasional off‑site field experiences.
