Position Summary
The purpose of this posting is to create a pool of talented employees for the 2026‑27 School Year. CREC seeks a talented PE/Health teacher for a teaching position at our various magnet schools. - Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small‑group instruction, and student learning.
- Develop grade‑level appropriate lesson plans and instructional materials, translating plans into learning experiences that develop pertinent sequential activities, challenge students, and best utilize available instructional time.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, modifying instruction to fit individual needs; provide individual and small group instruction as needed.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Personalize learning experiences through assessment, support, progression, relationships, and technology.
- Develop student agency, ownership, self‑advocacy, and effective communication skills.
- Use technology in the service of learning and professional responsibilities.
Teaching/Subject Assignment Specific:
- Administer and record results for the Connecticut Physical Fitness Assessment.
- Attend training sessions for supervising high ropes courses (if applicable).
• Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four‑year college or university in an education discipline applicable to the teaching assignment.
- Physical Education, PK‑12 (044).
- Health, PK‑12 (043) – cross endorsement for health preferred; candidates without health certification will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide transportation to meetings, trainings, and professional learning opportunities as required.
Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentWorking in a classroom demands prolonged standing/movement, frequent bending and crouching, lifting and carrying materials, fine motor skills for manipulating small objects, clear speaking voice, good vision and hearing, the ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously, and sometimes the need to move quickly to respond to student needs. Successful teachers require the ability to work in a high‑energy environment with varying noise levels.
Teachers are expected to work both indoors and outdoors (as needed) and may be expected to participate in off‑site field experiences.
