Summary
Trinity College Community Child Center is seeking a qualified, full-time Infant Teacher Assistant to join our dynamic team of Early Childhood Educators. Our teachers work on a full-time team of three which includes a Teacher and two Teacher Assistants. We are located on the beautiful Trinity College campus and our children join us from the Trinity community, Hartford, and outlying towns.
Job DescriptionOur teachers enjoy insightful training utilizing the state of Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards, Creative Curriculum, and other monthly workshops and staff meetings. Pay is commensurate with education and experience. This position is full-time (40 hours per week) and for the full year.
Duties- Work cooperatively with the Lead Teacher in managing the overall operation of the classroom (working independently in the Lead Teacher’s absence), maintaining a positive classroom and work environment in alignment with TC4 guidelines and norms, in compliance with Connecticut Office of Early Childhood and Department of Public Health mandates, and following NAEYC best practices.
- At least one year experience working with this age group (6 weeks to 18 months) in a childcare center.
- An Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred, however 12 Early Childhood college credits verified by the Office of Early Childhood or a current Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with additional experience will be considered.
- Knowledge of the State of Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS).
- Current CPR & 1st Aid certification that meets Office of Early Childhood (OEC) Licensing requirements or willing to obtain within one month of employment.
- Maturity, responsibility, and a sincere interest in working with children with very strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Physical ability and stamina to interact with children for up to 8 hours including but not limited to moving and reacting quickly, lifting and/or carrying a child, sitting on the floor or using child-size furniture, participating in field trips and playground activities, going on daily walks.
- Emotional capability to withstand periods of stress and respond positively under pressure.
- Ability to have flexible scheduling within our 7:30 am-5:30 pm business hours.
- Be creative and inspire children to learn and grow.
- Up to date physical with negative TB test.

Minimum Education:
