POSITION SUMMARY
The Vox Kids Director develops and advances children’s ministry at a local Vox Church campus through dynamic programming, intentional discipleship of children and volunteers, strong team leadership, and meaningful investment in families.
Vox Kids exists to see children drawn to the wonder of the gospel of Jesus Christ and to partner with parents in leading children to a life of lasting faith.
Ephesians 4:12 — “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.”
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Vox Kids Sunday Programming- Prepare curriculum lesson plans and supplemental resources for engaging Sunday Vox Kids programming.
- Recruit, train, and equip a team of volunteers to execute effective Sunday morning programming, including Bible teaching, activity facilitation, discipleship of children, and classroom management that fosters a safe and inviting environment.
- Support and encourage volunteers through regular communication, feedback, resources, and appreciation.
- Maintain inventory of classroom furniture, toys, books, supplies, merchandise, and printed materials; update and purchase items as needed.
- Visit classrooms regularly for evaluation, coaching, and volunteer support.
- Implement campus specific safety and security protocols, including the following: check-in and check-out protocol, emergency and safety preparedness procedures, and security measures that restrict general public access children’s spaces.
- Ensure Vox Kids policies and procedures are implemented with fidelity.
- Continually assess the effectiveness of the ministry and develop and execute strategies for growth and improvement.
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteer buddies for the Special Needs Ministry Buddy Program.
- Develop and execute strategies for family engagement, including new family connections and follow-up initiatives.
- Facilitate opportunities that connect, resource, and equip parents such as parenting groups, milestone classes, and family community groups to encourage family discipleship.
- Plan and execute family faith milestone classes and moments (i.e. child dedications) and family events/gatherings.
- Monitor and respond promptly to emails, voicemails, and other communications.
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with parents through newsletters, emails, social media, and other channels.
- Implement First-Time Visitor and Next Steps protocols with new families.
- Manage and update records, including:
- Volunteer information and background checks
- Rosters and scheduling
- Family contact databases
- Connections requests
- Communicate ministry needs, updates, and relevant information to campus leadership.
- Develop and manage the campus-specific Vox Kids budget, including tracking expenses.
- Oversee classroom maintenance, repairs, and supply coordination.
- Collect and process intake forms for families whose children have special needs or require additional support during Sunday programming.
- Attends Directional Team meetings, weekly check-ins with the Campus Pastor, and staff and prayer meetings.
- Participates in the life of and worship at Vox Church.
- Perform duties assigned by the Campus Pastor to contribute to the mission and life of the church.
- Partner with Central Kids Director to pilot ongoing new initiatives in programming, structure, branding, outreach, and team discipleship.
- Participate in biweekly Vox Kids directional team meetings, and monthly one-on-one meetings (virtually or in person) for community, leadership development, professional development, and support.
- Ensure the ministry aligns with Central Vox Kids ministry vision, goals, and standards.
