District Math Coach

The District Math Coach serves as a key instructional leader responsible for advancing high-quality mathematics teaching and learning across all K8 campuses within the district. This position focuses on building teacher capacity, strengthening standards-based instruction, supporting curriculum implementation, and improving scholar achievement through coaching, professional learning, data-driven decision making, and implementation of district improvement initiatives. The District Math Coach works collaboratively with district leaders, school administrators, and teachers to ensure equitable access to rigorous mathematics instruction and positive outcomes for all scholars.

This role plays a critical part in supporting the district's Strategic Plan, Corrective Action Plan (CAP), District Improvement Plan, School Improvement Plans, and Turnaround efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education (Master's preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification; advanced certification in instructional coaching, leadership, or AVID training preferred.
  • Mathematics Specialist endorsement required, or instructional coaching certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 5 years of successful teaching experience in mathematics instruction.
  • Demonstrated expertise in instructional strategies, curriculum alignment, and adult learning facilitation.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and support adult learning.
  • Proficiency in analyzing student achievement data and using results to drive instructional improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a focus on scholar achievement.
  • Experience with AVID program implementation is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Work Schedule and Compensation:
This is a full-time, 10-month position plus 10 days. Salary is commensurate with experience and district guidelines. District-based position with regular travel to all K8 schools and occasional evening or weekend family engagement events.
