Part-time Non-Credit Lecturer

Connecticut State Community College (CT State) is committed to providing high-quality, affordable, and accessible education that supports students' academic, career, and personal success. The Workforce Development and Continuing Education (WDCE) division offers a range of short-term licensure and certificate training programs and courses tailored to meet the needs of Connecticut residents and businesses.

The College is seeking part-time non-credit lecturers who are passionate about inspiring and preparing the next generation of Green Workforce and Sustainability professionals. Whether you're recently retired, exploring a career change, or eager to share your expertise in environmental innovation, CT State offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while earning a great wage.   • Lead consultant instructor
  • Clean Energy –
    • Solar
    • Offshore wind
    • Renewable thermal
    • Fields that support the energy workforce including utility arborists
  • Building energy conservation
    • Insulation Technician
    • Building automation systems
  • Water treatment and management
  • Sustainability
    • Hydroponics
    • Waste and resource management

Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching courses within the assigned discipline area in accordance with institutional standards
  • Evaluating and assessing student learning outcomes
  • Providing student support, mentoring, and academic advising
  • Developing curriculum and periodically reviewing and updating instructional materials

Successful Candidate must have or must possess:

  • Current Industry Certification in the field you are applying to.
  • Related work experience in the field you are applying to.
  • Ability to present curriculum in a classroom or lab environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Additional qualifications may be requested, as relevant to the academic department.
