Special Education Teacher

This is for the remainder of the  school year. Jumoke Academy seeks a Special Education teacher who is committed to excellence for every child and will accept nothing less. This individual must be highly motivated and mission-driven; a teacher who sweats the small stuff without losing sight of the big picture. The ideal teacher candidate will have a proven track record of driving for results, using data to drive and inform instruction, inspiring, engaging, and empowering students and families, establishing and maintaining a culture of high expectations, building effective relationships with students, families and peers, ensuring fidelity to curriculum, instructional excellence and best-practices in assessment, embracing the challenges facing urban schools with a mantra of "No Excuses" and a willingness to do "Whatever it takes."

Qualifications:

• Certification/License: CT State Certification (265 or similar)
• Education:
  
  An accredited Bachelor's or Masters Degree
• Experience:
  
  At least one year of teaching experience at the intermediate elementary level

Immediate Supervisor:
School Principal
