Instructional Supervisor

The ELA Instructional Supervisor at CREC plays a critical role in shaping and enhancing the development, refinement, and implementation of ELA curriculum from grades K-12 in CREC Magnet Schools. This position also focuses on supervising certified teachers and providing instructional support to both school leaders and teachers. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator and leader who is passionate about curriculum innovation, instructional excellence, and professional development.

Essential duties and responsibilities include leading the development, evaluation, and revision of subject-area curricula to align with state and national standards. Ensuring that curriculum materials reflect the diverse needs and experiences of students in the CREC community. Collaborating with teachers and content specialists to design innovative and engaging instructional resources. Providing guidance and support to school leaders and teachers in implementing evidence-based instructional practices.

Offering professional development workshops and coaching to enhance teaching effectiveness and student outcomes. Conducting classroom observations to assess instructional practices and provide actionable feedback. Fostering a collaborative culture that encourages reflection, innovation, and continuous improvement. Analyzing student achievement data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for growth. Using data to inform instructional strategies and curriculum adjustments. Collaborating with CREC leadership, school administrators, and instructional staff to ensure consistency and coherence in curriculum and instruction.

Supervisory responsibility includes co-evaluating certified teachers on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications include a master's degree from a four-year college or university, experience in teacher supervision, coaching, curriculum writing, and/or professional training preferred, and CT 092 certification required.

Travel requirements include a motor vehicle operator's license or ability to provide transportation to all CREC schools, meetings, trainings, and professional learning opportunities as required.

Physical demands and work environment include standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, ability to work outdoors, lifting up to 25 lbs., carrying up to 25 lbs., and moderate noise.
