Assistant Professor withaspecialization in postcolonial Francophone Studies, beginning July 1, 2027. The Department of Language and Culture Studies offers courses in nine different languages and is committed to innovation in pedagogyacrossall levels of our curriculum. Weare seeking candidates witharecord of excellence in scholarshipand teaching and whose research centers on Caribbean, North African,and/or sub-Saharan African literature and culture, ofany historical period. The successful candidate will be expected to expand our course offerings in postcolonial Francophone studies, teach coursesatall levels of French languageas wellas generalist courses in francophone literatures, provide courses in English that support our Africanand/or Caribbean Studies programs on campus,andparticipateactively in the service of our department.

The teaching load is typically 5 courses per year, but new hires teacha2-2 load in their first two years.

Applicants are expected to have native or near-native fluency in Frenchand English.
