Job Description

Since 1966, the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) has been dedicated to providing innovative, high-quality, and cost-effective educational programs and services to meet the diverse needs of children and adults in Greater Hartford. Serving 33 member districts and reaching additional communities statewide, CREC supports approximately 12,000 students annually through more than 120 educational programs. Our offerings include professional learning and coaching for educators, specialized programming for students with diverse needs, and PreK-12 education across 16 interdistrict magnet schools.

Additionally, CREC provides school construction, operations, and cooperative business services, while also delivering programs that help adults build real, job-ready skills.

Position Summary

The ML Instructional Supervisor at CREC plays a critical role in shaping and enhancing the educational experience of multilingual learners across CREC Magnet Schools. This position focuses on supervising certified teachers, reviewing and developing subject‑specific curricula, and providing instructional support to both school leaders and teachers in the area of multilingual learners. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator and leader with exceptional knowledge and experience with multilingual learners who is also passionate about curriculum innovation, instructional excellence, and professional development.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, evaluation, and revision of subject‑area curricula to align with state and national standards.
  • Ensure that curriculum materials reflect the diverse needs and experiences of students in the CREC community.
  • Collaborate with teachers and content specialists to design innovative and engaging instructional resources.
  • Provide guidance and support to school leaders and teachers in implementing evidence‑based instructional practices.
  • Offer professional development workshops and coaching to enhance teaching effectiveness and student outcomes.
  • Conduct classroom observations to assess instructional practices and provide actionable feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative culture that encourages reflection, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze student achievement data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for growth.
  • Use data to inform instructional strategies and curriculum adjustments.
  • Collaborate with CREC leadership, school administrators, and instructional staff to ensure consistency and coherence in curriculum and instruction.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned
