Job Description

Supports director in representing Trinity and the Center for Urbanand Global Studies (CUGS) to constituents within and outside of the college and in creating direction and goals for the center; also supports graduate studies in urban planning.

Responsibilities
  • Support director in representing Trinity and CUGS toconstituents within and outside of the college and in creatingdirection and goals for the center
  • Manage communications, including maintaining website, writingblogs, managing social media, and editing newsletter.
  • Plan, advertise, and host meetings, workshops, and conferences.
    Supervise student workers as research and communicationsassistants.
  • Assist CUGS visiting faculty through staffing searches,onboarding new visiting faculty, and ongoing support of visitingfaculty.
  • Support the IIE-SRF Visiting Scholar(s) in acclimating to lifeand work in the U.S. and assist the director in coordinating withthe New University in Exile Consortium.
  • Monitor budget expenditures, process payments and reimbursements.
  • Serve as building manager for 70 Vernon Street, includingsubmitting work requests and ordering supplies.
  • Manage student research grants and fellowships program of CUGS,including overseeing the application process, advising students on projects and presentations, coordinating and serving on selectioncommittees, and managing the administration of grants.
  • Assist in the promotion and programming of the graduate program/graduate certificate in urban planning.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Familiarity with the urban studies intellectual base of thecenter.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work well infast-paced and stressful environments
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize work
  • Excellent human relations/customer service skills with the ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to diversity,equity, and inclusion
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Effective communication (written and oral) skills
  • Public speaking and skills to develop presentations
  • Ability to perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to evaluate information, interpret and analyze data,and develop reports
  • Skill in program planning, implementation, and management
  • Ability to train team members or student employees and schedule/coordinate work and activities of others
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with leadership, faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders/constituencies
  • Ability to uphold a professional code of ethics and maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of departmental technology and computing skills
  • Skill in accounting and budget management
