REPORTS TO: Principal

POSITION SUMMARY: The Athletic Academic Advisor for the Ath Life Program plays a critical role in guiding student-athletes toward academic success, timely graduation, and holistic personal development. The advisor will work closely with a diverse cohort of student-athletes, coaching staff, faculty, and university support services to create individualized academic plans, monitor progress, and provide proactive support. This position requires a deep understanding of NCAA regulations, academic policies, and the unique challenges faced by student-athletes.

JOB

EXPECTATIONS:

10 weeks per sport season (Fall, Winter, Spring), 5-7 hours per week

4-5 hours per week:
Direct student meetings (individual check-ins, small groups).

1-2 hours per week:
Academic plan development, progress monitoring, communications with coaches/faculty, and reporting.

Required Qualifications:
  • Preferred course and/or work experience in Education, Counseling, Sports Management and athletic administration.
  • Preferred understanding of NCAA academic eligibility rules and regulations (Divisions I, II, or III, as applicable).
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with diverse student populations, coaches, faculty, and administrators.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with student information systems (Power School) and/or academic advising software.
Preferred

Qualification:
  • Experience working with student-athletes from various sports and academic disciplines.
  • Experience in developing and facilitating workshops or presentations for families, student athletes and stakeholders.
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

$5000 Stipend - $1667 per season (Fall, Winter, Spring)
