Civil Project Manager – (Wastewater Infrastructure)
Location: Northeast Connecticut (Relocation assistance may be available)
Compensation: Competitive base + bonus + full benefits
Employment Type: Full-time
We are partnered with a well-established, privately held heavy civil contractor specializing in complex environmental construction projects across water and wastewater infrastructure. This organization has decades of experience delivering high-quality public and private projects, including treatment plants, pump stations, and large-scale utility upgrades.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Civil Project Manager with strong experience in heavy civil and wastewater to lead critical infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead full lifecycle project execution for heavy civil and water/wastewater construction projects
- Manage budgets, schedules, and overall financial performance
- Coordinate field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, municipalities, and stakeholders
- Oversee procurement, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and contract requirements
- Conduct site visits, resolve field issues, and drive project progress
- Participate in preconstruction, constructability reviews, and value engineering
- 5–15+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
- Strong experience with water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, or underground utilities
- Proven track record managing projects from preconstruction through close-out
- Solid understanding of:
- Concrete structures, earthwork, piping, and process systems
- Construction sequencing and means & methods
- Experience working with municipal/public works projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
