Engineering & Controls Manager – Hartford, CT (On‑Site). Full‑time position.
A rapidly growing industrial manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Engineering & Controls Manager to lead a team responsible for electrical design, automation systems, power distribution projects, and engineering operations. This leadership role offers the opportunity to drive innovation, oversee project execution, and support continued company growth within industrial and energy‑related markets.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of engineers and technical professionals.
- Oversee electrical design and control system development for industrial applications.
- Review customer specifications and translate requirements into manufacturable solutions.
- Prepare and review engineering documentation, including schematics, drawings, and bills of materials.
- Support proposal development and project execution activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering processes, quality, and efficiency.
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance throughout project life cycles.
- Manage project schedules, engineering resources, and departmental priorities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical, safety, and quality standards.
- Interface with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders on technical matters.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of electrical engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, industrial controls, and power distribution.
- Experience with electrical CAD software and engineering documentation.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience with industrial automation platforms is highly desirable.
- ERP/MRP system experience is a plus.
- Competitive base salary: $140,000‑$150,000 USD per year.
