A well-established, employee-owned multidisciplinary consultancy in the Greater Hartford area has a significant and growing forensic engineering workload across the insurance sector and is now looking for a Senior Forensic Engineer to come in, lead on delivery, and ultimately build a team around them.
The firm has deep roots across NY, Connecticut and New England, a strong existing client base of insurers, attorneys and property owners, and the infrastructure to support a senior engineer who wants to do the work they are good at without having to fight for it first.
Whilst civil and structural engineering backgrounds are the primary fit, applications are welcome from engineers and architects across all disciplines with relevant forensic and insurance sector experience.
WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON- Forensic investigations into structural failures, water intrusion, roof damage, construction defects and building system failures
- Cause and origin analysis for insurance companies, law firms and private clients
- Catastrophic loss investigations including storm damage, hurricanes and floods
- Structural assessment of residential and commercial properties
- Expert report writing and defensible findings for insurance and legal clients
- Deposition and expert witness support
- Premises and walking surface investigations
- Building and growing a forensic engineering team as the division expands
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Master's preferred
- Minimum 8 years engineering experience
- At least 2 years of forensic engineering experience
- PE licence or R.A preferred
- Experience working with insurance companies and law firms
- Strong analytical, field inspection and technical report writing skills
- Deposition or expert testimony experience is beneficial
- Highly motivated and able to manage multiple projects independently
- Employee-owned with a genuine path to shareholder status
- A ready-made client base and significant existing workload to step straight into
- A platform to build and lead a forensic engineering team as the division grows
- Bi-annual salary reviews and bonus payments
- Full-time or part-time considered
- Salary $120,000 to $180,000 depending on experience
