Drone Systems Integration Engineer

A cutting-edge technology company specializing in engineering and propulsion is in search of a Drone Systems Integration Engineer to aid in the advancement of next-generation unmanned aerial vehicle platforms and integrated control systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with a background in developing and integrating embedded electronic systems for UAVs, robotics, or other autonomous platforms. This position involves systems engineering, embedded software, electronics integration, and practical testing within a highly cooperative R&D setting.

Primary Duties

Design and create electronic control architectures for UAV propulsion, flight control, and onboard systems
Incorporate flight controllers, engine management systems, sensors, communication interfaces, and avionics hardware
Develop embedded software and firmware to support control logic, telemetry, safety functions, and system communication
Assist in the system-level integration of electrical, software, and mechanical subsystems for advanced UAV platforms
Configure and troubleshoot autopilot systems, onboard electronics, and communication networks
Conduct hands-on testing, debugging, validation, and performance assessment of integrated UAV systems
Collaborate closely with diverse engineering teams to ensure system functionality, reliability, and performance objectives are met
Create and maintain technical documentation encompassing system architecture, interface definitions, test procedures, and integration workflows
Engage in rapid prototyping and iterative product development endeavors within a fast-paced engineering milieu
Aid in modeling, simulation, and validation of electromechanical systems before physical implementation

Essential Criteria

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
Experience in developing embedded electronic systems for UAVs, robotics, autonomous systems, or similar contexts
Strong background in embedded software/firmware development and hardware/software integration
Experience with real-time systems, low-level communications, and control architectures
Familiarity with communication protocols like CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, MAVLink, or comparable interfaces
Experience integrating sensors, actuators, avionics systems, and embedded controllers
Understanding of electromechanical systems and system-level troubleshooting methods
Experience with UAV flight controllers and autopilot platforms such as PX4, Ardu Pilot, or equivalent technologies
Hands-on experience in testing, debugging, and validating integrated hardware/software systems
Comfortable operating in a dynamic R&D atmosphere with evolving priorities and ambitious development schedules
Strong problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and capability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting UAV propulsion system integration
Familiarity with PCB design and electronic hardware development
Background in aerospace, defense, autonomous vehicles, or advanced robotics
Experience with system simulation and modeling tools for electromechanical systems
Understanding of telemetry systems, wireless communications, and remote vehicle operations
Exposure to safety-critical system development and validation processes
Experience supporting prototype aircraft or drone development programs
