Develop computer-aided designs (CAD) based on field investigations, project scope, and engineering criteria supplied by project/discipline engineers to support electric substation construction projects for Eversource transmission and distribution facilities. The selected candidate must execute simultaneous projects, work to a schedule, follow through to completion, communicate well, and use computers effectively.
Responsibilities- Develop or oversee detailed design packages through collaboration with engineering, construction, operating personnel, design disciplines, and vendors.
- Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and scheduled deadlines.
- Execute multiple projects concurrently and adhere to schedule.
- Coordinate design effort with other disciplines and project team members.
- Provide guidance, training, and direction to less experienced team members and CAD technicians.
- Prepare and maintain bills of materials and supporting documents associated with design drawing development.
- Develop and recommend cost‑effective design solutions.
- Verify and/or direct the verification of As‑Built condition of design documents.
- Attend field visits to verify site conditions, resolve field issues, and verify design accuracy.
- Process, review, and approve design changes to accommodate field problems and ECNs.
- Provide design and CAD services to Engineering and Operations for license submittals and special assignments.
- Provide on‑site design approval of equipment and components during vendor fabrication.
- Proven AutoCAD and detailed drawing production skills.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems and I/O control circuits, or mechanical systems and components, or civil/structural/site design and architectural structures.
- Ability to apply engineering, design, and CAD standards and procedures.
- General knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- Ability to learn and apply 2D and 3D CAD techniques.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Associate of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology, or Associate’s Degree in CAD Technology (preferred).
- Two to five years of related utility design or technical experience.
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Must be available for emergency restoration assignments as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA, CT, and NH as necessary.

Annual salary range: $84,980.00 – $94,420.00. Eligible for potential incentive and total rewards program.
