A leading industrial paper manufacturing company is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts at a large-scale manufacturing facility. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an environmental professional to make a direct impact on plant operations while working closely with production, maintenance, and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Support air, water, wastewater, stormwater, and waste management programs.
  • Prepare and maintain environmental permits, reports, and regulatory documentation.
  • Conduct environmental audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Partner with operations teams to identify opportunities for sustainability and waste reduction.
  • Track environmental performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a key resource during regulatory inspections and agency interactions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of environmental engineering experience within manufacturing, industrial, chemical, paper, pulp & paper, or related production environments.
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance programs.
  • Experience with air emissions, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, hazardous waste, or environmental reporting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in paper, pulp & paper, forestry products, or other process manufacturing industries.
  • Familiarity with EPA regulations and environmental management systems.
  • Experience supporting sustainability or environmental improvement projects.
