Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to support a diverse portfolio of environmental, health, and safety projects.

Position Summary

The EHS Specialist provides on- and off-site compliance, assessment, monitoring, training, and project support for industrial and commercial clients. The role combines fieldwork, technical data evaluation, client service, and project coordination.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide general EHS compliance support at client sites and remotely, including audits, inspections, program assessments, and documentation of existing conditions.
  • Participate in and, when qualified, lead field sampling and assessment activities such as stormwater and waste sampling, noise monitoring, air monitoring, indoor air quality assessments, ventilation evaluations, mold assessments, and hazardous building materials evaluations.
  • Support safety assessments involving hazard communication, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, confined spaces, fall protection, and job safety analysis.
  • Select and prepare appropriate field equipment; develop work plans; organize project logistics; review field documentation; and coordinate with field staff throughout project execution.
  • Review field and analytical results, compare findings with applicable regulatory or industry criteria, evaluate trends, and complete spreadsheet-based and hand calculations.
  • Prepare clear, technically sound deliverables, including summary memoranda, initial report drafts, compliance documentation, and training materials.
  • Develop and deliver EHS, emergency response, and emergency management training programs.
  • Provide technical support for EHS programs and assigned projects, identify site-specific obstacles, and develop practical alternatives to achieve project objectives.
  • Support proposal development, task budgets, project initiation documentation, schedules, and project teams; monitor work against approved scope and budget.
  • Maintain effective client communication, help identify client needs and opportunities, and, when assigned, serve as Project Manager for selected projects.
  • Direct or mentor junior staff when appropriate and perform all work safely and in accordance with firm policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of EHS principles and common regulatory requirements, including hazard communication, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, confined spaces, fall protection, and job safety analysis.
  • Ability to interpret field observations and analytical data and compare results with applicable regulatory or industry standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to complete technical calculations and prepare well-organized documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, sound observation skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
