Travelers is a leading property casualty insurer seeking an experienced finance professional to lead investment financial analysis for a portfolio that exceeds $100billion. The role reports to executive leadership, provides strategic financial insights, and manages a small analytical team.
Compensation OverviewAnnual base salary range: $ – $. Final pay will reflect experience, location, and qualifications. Eligible for performance‑based cash incentive awards.
What Will You Do?- Ensure all investment portfolio reports, exhibits, and presentations are accurate, impactful, and clear.
- Synthesize analytical insights into actionable recommendations and lead the analysis of high‑complexity financial and operational reports.
- Identify data gaps, explain limitations, and recommend alternatives.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management, including formal presentations and monthly financial results.
- Drive business strategy for supported organizations through investment‑focused financial analysis.
- Monitor competitor releases, SEC filings, and industry trade press to derive insights applicable to departmental strategies.
- Advise on financial regulatory changes, reorganizations, mergers, and acquisitions affecting reporting.
- Coach, train, mentor, and develop analytical team members; manage staffing and performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or MBA (finance or accounting concentration). Optional advanced designations (CPA, CMA).
- Extensive experience with financial analysis concepts, processes, and accounting principles, preferably within the P&C insurance industry.
- Significant forecasting experience across fixed income, private equity, real estate, and short‑term investments.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and influencing skills for presenting complex information to senior leaders.
- Proven leadership, mentoring, and team‑development abilities, with a track record of aligning resources to key objectives.
- Advanced data analysis skills to interpret trends and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent organization, multitasking, and delegation capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and financial reporting software (TM1, Essbase, Hyperion, etc.).
- Strong business acumen, problem‑solving, and strategic thinking across the company.
- Eight years of finance, financial planning, accounting, or related experience.
- Previous management experience.
