Sr Asset Mgmt Analyst
Senior Analyst, Real Estate Asset Management at HIMCO (The Hartford Investment Management Company) is seeking an experienced Real Estate Asset Manager to manage a variety of equity and debt assets in a $14 billion+ portfolio.
Location:
Hartford, CT – hybrid basis (Tuesday–Thursday)
- Serve as primary strategic and relationship manager for assigned equity and debt assets.
- Oversee performance and investment management of a mix of multifamily, industrial, office, retail, and self‑storage assets.
- Track loan performance, analyze key risk metrics, value debt collateral, and assign risk ratings for commercial mortgage loans.
- Promptly address borrower requests and review potential loan modifications, managing construction loan draw reviews.
- Manage joint‑venture partner relationships, including legal rights and obligations, and third‑party debt on equity assets.
- Perform asset valuations and summaries, analyze and manage annual budgets, and oversee construction/renovation projects.
- Monitor rent rolls, lease expirations, tenant credit, operating expenses, and capital expenditures with JV partners or Property Management firms.
- Provide timely answers and services to clients related to managed assets.
- Contribute market‑trend insights and collaborate on department‑wide special projects.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams across the firm.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant real‑estate equity asset management or similar experience.
- Experience with at least two of: debt assets/loan documents, construction loans/equity development assets, diverse property types, joint‑venture structures/documents and management, property‑management relationships, third‑party debt management.
- Knowledge of fundamentals across multifamily, industrial, office, retail, and self‑storage sectors and demand drivers.
- Understanding of major U.S. geographic markets, including urban, inner‑ring, and suburban locations.
- Proficiency in ARGUS Enterprise, Excel, and MS Office suite.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication; teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to thrive in fast‑paced deadline‑driven environments.
- Willingness to travel within the U.S. up to ~20% of the time.
- Exposure to industry research sources such as NCREIF, MBA, NMHC, IREM, ICSC is a plus.
- Real‑estate accounting experience/exposure a plus.
- $106,000 – $144,000 annualized base pay range.
- Additional rewards may include bonuses, long‑term incentives, and on‑the‑spot recognition.
