Known for its product expertise and customer relationships, the company is navigating a changing retail landscape and is investing in stronger financial leadership to guide its next phase with an upcoming retirement.
OpportunityThis is a hands-on CFO role for a finance leader who thrives on cash management. While the accounting function is well established, the company's biggest financial priority is treasury: forecasting, managing, and optimizing cash flow to support day-to-day operations and long-term decisions. You will be a trusted advisor to ownership and a key voice in several important strategic decisions over the coming months, including evaluating the company's physical footprint and operating model.
This is an immediate opening for a leader who can make an impact quickly.
- Own treasury and cash flow management, including weekly cash forecasting, disbursement planning, and working capital strategy
- Manage and strengthen banking and lender relationships, including the company's line of credit
- Lead cost/benefit analyses and provide clear recommendations on major strategic and facility decisions
- Oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and the month-end and year-end close
- Improve inventory management and purchasing discipline, working with operations and purchasing to reduce excess stock and tie purchasing to demand
- Negotiate supplier terms and contracts, and build supplier scorecards and vendor performance metrics
- Develop SOPs, KPIs, and management reporting where none currently exist
- Maximize the use of the company's ERP system (Acumatica) to drive efficiency, visibility, and better data
- Oversee payroll, benefits administration, insurance, and IT coordination
- Work closely with outside legal and CPA advisors on tax, compliance, and entity matters
- Lead and develop a very small accounting team
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proven experience as Finance Leader or a Controller who is looking to take the next step in their career
- Demonstrated strength in treasury and cash management
- Experience in retail, distribution, or inventory-heavy businesses strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of inventory valuation, purchasing processes, and vendor negotiations
- Experience with a modern ERP Comfort building process and metrics in an environment that is ready for them
- Strong communicator who can partner with family ownership and external bankers and advisors
- Hands-on, pragmatic, and able to balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution
- Salary of $140,000 – $175,000, based on experience
