- Location:
450 Columbus Blvd, Hartford, CT - Hybrid role – combination of in-office and telework
- Conduct surveillance.
- Interview witnesses, complainants and others to obtain information.
- Secure evidence in the form of statements, documents, records and exhibits for use in administrative hearings and court.
- Investigate backgrounds of licensees, subcontractors and agents.
- Analyze financial records and other reports.
- Identify possible threats to internal and external security.
- Gather information and write reports.
- Prepare and submit affidavits and applications for arrest warrants.
- Apprehend suspects and make arrests.
- Present cases in court.
- Perform related duties as required.
The DCP Gaming Division regulates legal gambling programs in Connecticut, comprising casinos, lottery, off-track betting, sports wagering, online gaming, and fantasy contests. We conduct game and system approvals, licensing, inspections, monitoring, audits, and investigations to safeguard consumer interests and the integrity of the gaming process.

Six (6) years of investigatory experience in law enforcement.
Minimum Qualifications – Substitutions AllowedCollege training in law enforcement or a closely related field may be substituted for the general experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one half (½) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience conducting criminal and employment background investigations.
- Experience participating in undercover law enforcement investigations.
- Experience preparing applications for arrest warrants, search warrants, and preparation for legal proceedings.
- Experience with analyzing financial records and digital forensics during investigations.
- Experience with Connecticut Gaming Laws, Regulations and Technical Standards.
- Incumbents in this class must obtain and retain appointment by the Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection as a special police officer.
- Incumbents in this class may be required to travel.
- Incumbents in this class may be required to possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
- Candidates for this class are subject to selection standards pursuant to Sections 7-294e-1 to 7-294e-24 of the regulations of the Police Officer Standards and Training Council.
Incumbents in this class may be exposed to dangerous situations which may cause injury or loss of life and may perform field investigations under unpleasant conditions.
