Introduction
The mission of the State of Connecticut, Office of State Ethics is to encourage accountability and integrity throughout state government. We provide legal advice, guidance and education to public officials, state employees and lobbyists; interpret and enforce applicable laws; and administer disclosure through the lobbyist and financial filing systems. We are recruiting for an Associate Accounts Examiner to join our team.

Full-time, 40 hours per week - Work Shift:
First shift, 8:30 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m. - Location:
165 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT 06105
- Conduct audits of lobbyist financial filings and draft audit reports with detailed findings.
- Meet and interface with lobbyists to collect information and resolve discrepancies in filings.
- Perform audits of Statements of Financial Interests (SFIs) for completion and accuracy, and draft annual reports regarding SFI audits.
- Advise the Ethics Enforcement Officer of any suspected violations discovered during audits.
- Prepare annual reports regarding the status of the lobbyist audit program, including data analysis from previously completed audits.
- Provide analytical auditing and accounting support to the Enforcement Division in its investigation and analysis of confidential matters.
- Examine complex financial and other records related to business transactions under investigation and/or audit.
- Assist and support related Office of State Ethics functions, including drafting analytical reports, preparing for hearings, analyzing agency data for reports, contributing to audit decisions, and compiling information for the Citizen's Ethics Advisory Board or agency staff.

This position will work under the general supervision of the Executive Director or other employee of higher grade.
