The general duties include: prevention, repression, surveillance of public order, tranquility, security, and sanitation; execution of the mayor's police orders, and the recording of contraventions to these orders as well as to the provisions of codes and laws within the scope of its competencies; ensuring compliance with parking rules. The hierarchical and transversal liaisons include: relations with the mayor, director general of security, and head of the police service;

daily relations with elected officials, the public, external service providers, all agents of the community, as well as with children at school and the teaching staff; relations with the gendarmerie, the judicial police, neighboring police services, and emergency services in general. The agent works independently at their workstation, with regular checks by their superior to ensure the proper completion of their tasks.

The professional profile includes: required professional qualifications: training in municipal police - sworn in and approved by the Prefect and the Public Prosecutor. Desired professional experience: grade assigned to the position: gardien-brigadier.
