The Planning Specialist works within the Connecticut Department of Housing's Housing Development division to support affordable housing planning and community revitalization across the state. Key responsibilities include collaborating with municipalities and agencies to implement housing legislation, providing technical assistance to communities, and supporting the creation of statewide housing growth targets and policy guidance.
Key qualifications- Eight years of planning experience including development of written long-term plans with broad impact
- One year of planning experience at the Lead Planning Analyst level
- Considerable knowledge of state and federal housing laws, regulations, and planning principles
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret research data and utilize computer software
- Experience providing technical assistance to municipal staff on housing policy (preferred)
