The Environmental Analyst 1 position in Connecticut's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection assists with managing state and federal environmental databases to support water pollution control and compliance with the Clean Water Act and NPDES requirements. Working within the Water Planning and Management Division's Municipal Wastewater Program in Hartford, the analyst performs technical review and analysis of environmental data, maintains databases such as EPA's Central Data Exchange and Integrated Compliance Information System, and supports regulatory and programmatic responsibilities.
This is a full-time, 40-hour hybrid position based Monday–Friday on a first shift schedule.
- Five years of experience in technical analysis and interpretation of environmental program data or planning and implementing environmental programs
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental laws, statutes, regulations, and policies
- Proficiency with computer software and database tools such as Excel, SQL, Oracle, or cloud-based systems
- Ability to understand and interpret legislation and technical data
- Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical discipline related to environmental field may substitute for up to four years of experience
