Position PurposeOB ED department registration, collection of copayments and collecting all patient demographic information. Processes include obtaining accurate demographic, insurance and patient liability information.
What You Will Do- Responsible for the pre-registration process of patient admissions
- Obtain approvals and payments on site
- Explain insurance and private pay liabilities; appropriately refer patients requiring financial counseling
- Accurately enter/update all patient demographic information, including insurance and patient liability; post payments to appropriate screen and complete reconciliation reports
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances
- Patient access hospital experience strongly preferred
- Part time 16hr–– weekends only–– on evenings, 3p-11:30p
- Shift and weekend differentials apply
- TRAINING/ORIENTATION IS 2-3 WEEKS MON-FRI 8A-4:30P
- Third week required if new hire has less than 1 year experience doing registration in a hospital
