The Connecticut Department of Public Health seeks an Epidemiologist 4 (Toxic Hazards) to coordinate and manage the Food Protection Program within the Environmental Health Section. This role provides technical leadership for retail food safety, program administration, and collaboration with local health partners. The position is located in Hartford, Connecticut and works a hybrid schedule of 35 hours per week.
Key qualifications:- Nine years of epidemiological investigations experience in a responsible technical or professional capacity
- One year of program administration in occupational/environmental epidemiology or development of complex risk assessment documents at Epidemiologist 3 level
- Considerable knowledge of occupational/environmental epidemiology, toxicology, and relevant state/federal regulations
- Experience supervising professional food protection staff and conducting foodborne illness investigations
- Ability to develop, design, and analyze epidemiologic studies and recommend intervention strategies
- Supervisory ability and strong oral and written communication skills
