Pharmacy Technician

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a busy retail pharmacy in the Hartford area, for a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants hands‑on experience in patient care, medication safety, and pharmacy operations while working alongside licensed pharmacists in a fast-paced, patient‑focused environment.

Day to day, you will be on your feet assisting customers at the counter, entering prescriptions, and keeping the workflow moving accurately and efficiently. COMPENSATION

The salary range for this role is $62,000 - $75,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process prescription orders from patients and providers
• Accurately enter prescription information into the pharmacy management system
• Count, measure, and label medications under pharmacist supervision
• Assist customers at the pharmacy counter and answer routine questions
• Process insurance claims and resolve billing rejections
• Maintain accurate inventory and place orders for medications and supplies
• Operate cash register and handle payment transactions
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy workspace
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations
• Support pharmacists with administrative and clerical tasks as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Current Pharmacy Technician registration or certification in Connecticut
• National certification such as PTCB or ExCPT preferred
• Prior pharmacy or customer service experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
• Comfortable using pharmacy software and computer systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast‑paced setting
