We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations. This contract position involves managing payroll processes for both salaried and hourly employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations. The role also includes handling HR-related responsibilities such as union administration, benefits coordination, and 401(k) management.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute full-cycle payroll processes for under 100 employees, including both salaried and hourly staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of manual payroll operations.
- Administer payroll for union employees while adhering to collective bargaining agreements.
- Handle weekly payroll tasks, maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with HR to oversee employee benefits programs, including 401(k) plans.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies effectively.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation for audit purposes.
- Utilize AS 400 software to streamline payroll operations and reporting.
- Assist in the administration of union-related HR functions.
- Develop and improve payroll processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements - Proven experience managing payroll operations for small organizations, preferably under 100 employees.
- Proficiency in handling manual payroll processes.
- Familiarity with payroll procedures for unionized work forces.
- Strong knowledge of weekly payroll cycles and compliance requirements.
- Experience with AS 400 software or similar payroll systems.
- Understanding of HR functions such as benefits administration and 401(k) management.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication abilities to address payroll concerns and collaborate with team members.
