Position: Pega Lead System Architect (LSA) – E2E Transformation

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Lead Pega System Architect for a CONTRACT TO HIRE role with one of our premier INSURANCE clients in Columbus, OH, Charlotte, NC or Hartford, CT (hybrid 3 days onsite weekly).

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Pega System Architect to serve as the technical authority for a major end to end digital transformation program. This role will provide architectural leadership and hands on guidance to three delivery teams consisting of Pega UI developers and Pega integration engineers.

The LSA will partner with business stakeholders, architects, and delivery leaders to design, build, and optimize enterprise grade Pega solutions aligned with strategic business goals.

Pega LSAs are senior level experts responsible for designing and implementing Pega based solutions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with business needs.

This role sits at the heart of the transformation initiative—ensuring that people, processes, and technology converge into a scalable, future ready Pega ecosystem. By combining architectural vision, technical leadership, and hands on expertise, the Pega LSA plays a critical role in enabling enterprise modernization and sustained digital excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end to end architecture, design, and implementation of Pega applications, including case management, workflows, integrations, and UI frameworks. Pega LSAs commonly lead complex enterprise architecture initiatives.
  • Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional/technical design, product configuration, testing, and production deployment. This aligns with LSA responsibilities defined by Pega's own role descriptions.
  • Architect scalable and secure Pega solutions ensuring adherence to guardrails, best practices, and enterprise architecture guidelines.
  • Oversee integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, messaging systems, file listeners, and other Pega integration capabilities. Many LSA roles require deep integration expertise.
Team Leadership & Technical Governance
  • Provide technical leadership across three agile delivery teams (UI developers and integration engineers), guiding day to day solutioning, implementation approaches, and code quality.
  • Conduct code reviews, architectural assessments, and quality assurance checkpoints to ensure solutions meet performance, security, and maintainability standards. Pega LSA roles routinely include mentoring and governance.
  • Mentor junior and senior system architects, enabling skill uplift in Pega Infinity, Constellation UI, and modern integration patterns.
  • Support Scrum ceremonies and help teams break down features into technical tasks, aligning with Agile delivery best practices.
Transformation Delivery & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with business analysts, product owners, and enterprise architects to translate complex business requirements into feasible Pega designs.
  • Participate in cross functional workshops, solution design sessions, and technical discovery initiatives, representing the engineering perspective.
  • Ensure E2E alignment between UI/UX elements, Pega case design, data models, and backend integration layers.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting efforts across Pega environments. LSAs commonly oversee full stack issue resolution and performance improvements.
  • Support deployment planning, CI/CD pipeline enhancements, cloud architecture discussions, and operational readiness activities.
  • Promote automation, standardization, and reusable component creation to accelerate delivery across teams.
  • Provide ongoing support and technical governance across multiple projects at a single client, as is common in LSA roles.
Required Qualifications
  • Certified Pega Lead System Architect (CLSA) is required.
  • 10+ years of Pega engineering experience, with at least 4-6+ years in architecture and technical leadership roles.
  • Deep expertise in Pega Infinity, case types, data modeling, rulesets, UI frameworks (Constellation), and systems integration.
