Professionals coming from general cloud roles, short consulting projects, or AI research without insurance system exposure may not find this role to be a good match. The work focuses on production systems used in regulated insurance environments.
We are supporting a large enterprise client in the Commercial Insurance space that is seeking a Senior Cloud AI Engineer. This role focuses on building and supporting AI-enabled cloud solutions used in core insurance systems.
This is a fully onsite position in Hartford. Candidates must already live nearby or be willing to relocate on their own.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou will build and support cloud-based AI solutions used across commercial insurance platforms. This includes integrating Azure AI services into backend systems, developing APIs using C# .NET, and deploying applications in Azure.
You will work closely with technical and business teams to support systems used in underwriting, claims, and policy operations. The role involves working on established enterprise systems rather than experimental or proof‑of‑concept work.
Required Experience and SkillsCandidates must have 7+ years of experience working in the Commercial Insurance industry. Hands‑on experience with Azure AI services, including Azure OpenAI and Azure Foundry, is required.
Strong experience with C# .NET and API development is essential. You must have practical experience using Azure services such as Container Apps, API Management, App Gateway, Key Vault, App Services, Logic Apps, and SQL Managed Instance.
Experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools, including Bicep, ARM templates, and Terraform, is required. Candidates should show stable work history and experience delivering production systems in enterprise environments.
Preferred ExperienceExperience working in agile teams or SAFe environments is preferred. Knowledge of Angular and SQL is helpful. Experience with Property and Casualty insurance systems is a plus.
EducationA bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent hands‑on experience may be considered.
CertificationsAzure certifications are preferred but not required, including Azure AI Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect.
Location and Work SetupThis role is fully onsite in Hartford, Connecticut. Candidates must be able to commute daily or relocate independently. No relocation support is available.
