Senior Scrum Master

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Senior Scrum Master for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier INSURANCE clients in HARTFORD, CT.

The Senior Scrum Master will drive agile delivery excellence across a high-impact digital transformation program, managing risks, empowering teams, and ensuring seamless execution in a matrixed enterprise environment.

Lead agile practices for 7-8 squads while directly running 2-3 pods, overseeing the program backlog, mentoring junior Scrum Masters, and delivering executive stakeholder updates. This servant leadership role demands proven hands‑on success in large-scale programs over certifications.

• Manage risks and dependencies across multiple squads to ensure smooth, predictable delivery.
• Directly facilitate 2-3 squads while providing oversight to a total of 7-8 pods.
• Maintain and prioritize the overall program backlog, aligning with business priorities.
• Mentor and coach 2 junior Scrum Masters to build organizational agile capability.
• Deliver polished executive-level presentations and status updates to stakeholders.

Servant leader focused on team empowerment, removing impediments, and fostering collaboration. Exceptional communication skills required—from daily standups to C‑suite briefings.

• Proven track record delivering large-scale programs in matrixed organizations.
• Hands‑on success managing multiple squads/pods and program-level backlogs.
• Experience mentoring junior agile roles and presenting to executives.
• Strong risk management and dependency coordination across teams.

• Insurance or financial services domain exposure.
• Agile delivery in complex, enterprise transformation initiatives.
