Dev Ops Engineer (Hybrid in Hartford, CT)

Optomiis seeking a Senior Dev Ops Engineer to help drive Dev Ops maturity across a large organization. This role aligns closely to a strong mid-level to early senior engineer who is hands-on, Azure-focused, and excited to build pipelines, automation, and scalable Dev Ops practices. This is a direct-hire opportunity with a hybrid onsite expectation of two days per week.

Experience of the Right Candidate:
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Dev Ops and Azure cloud services.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using YAML.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
  • Experience migrating pipelines and repositories from legacy systems to Git-based workflows.
  • Experience supporting database deployment pipelines, including tools such as Liquibase.
  • Strong automation and scripting experience (Power Shell, Bash, Python, or Bicep).
  • Ability to work across multiple engineering teams and communicate with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience operating in Agile or SAFe environments.
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:
  • Design, build, and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support application and database deployments.
  • Migrate existing pipelines and repositories from legacy source control to Git-based solutions.
  • Implement and improve automation for spinning up training and non-production environments.
  • Develop reusable Dev Ops patterns, standards, and best practices across teams.
  • Support proof-of-concepts and modernization initiatives across the Commercial Lines organization.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, principal engineers, and engineering managers.
  • Partner with offshore Dev Ops resources during daily stand-ups and delivery efforts.
  • Document pipeline designs, process flows, and deployment standards.
  • Troubleshoot and debug CI/CD pipeline issues and deployment failures.
