IT Project Manager, Scrum Master
We are looking for an Agile coach who can train Data Project Managers / Program Managers / Scrum Masters on Agile processes and help improve Agile maturity.
Candidate can work from Piscataway NJ / EDC office at Erie, PA / Local to CT is good but need to travel to Hartford client location occasionally.

Key Responsibilities Team-Level Coaching
- Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA and development teams in effective agile practices
- Facilitate agile ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog refinement) when needed
- Help teams improve their ability to deliver completed work within sprints
- Support teams in developing working agreements and effective collaboration patterns
- Guide teams in adapting agile practices to fit their specific context and constraints
- Work within existing PMO and governance structures to integrate agile approaches
- Support Project Managers in hybrid environments where traditional and agile approaches coexist
- Facilitate workshops for team launches, retrospectives, and continuous improvement sessions
- Contribute to the development of standards and best practices for agile adoption
- Build trust and credibility with stakeholders at all levels
- Translate agile concepts into business value language for leadership
- Identify and help address systemic impediments to team effectiveness
- Develop sustainable team capabilities
- Share knowledge through training, workshops, and mentoring
- Help teams learn to solve their own problems through effective facilitation
- Contribute to building a community of practice around effective delivery
- 15+ years of hands‑on agile experience in professional environments a MUST
- 8+ years in an agile coaching role supporting multiple teams a MUST
- Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and other agile frameworks
- Demonstrated experience working in traditional or hybrid project management environments
- Practical knowledge of traditional project management approaches and how to integrate them with agile practices
- Experience coaching teams through incremental improvement
- Exceptional facilitation skills for workshops, retrospectives, and difficult conversations
- Strong coaching mindset - asking questions rather than providing all answers
- Adaptability - able to adjust approach based on team maturity, organizational context, and specific needs
- Systems thinking - understanding how organizational structures, incentives, and culture affect behavior
- Communication versatility - comfortable with technical teams, executives, and everyone in between
- Cultural sensitivity - ability to work effectively in a global organization with diverse perspectives
- Pragmatic and outcome-focused rather than dogmatic about specific frameworks
- Patient with gradual change and comfortable with incremental progress
- Curious - seeks to understand context before prescribing solutions
- Collaborative - builds consensus and helps others succeed
- Self-aware - recognizes your own biases and continuously learns
- Experience in regulated industries (insurance, financial services, healthcare)
- Familiarity with scaled agile approaches
- Experience with both co‑located and distributed teams
- Relevant certifications (CSM, PSM, ICP-ACC, etc.) are valued but not required
- Understanding of Dev Ops, CI/CD, and technical practices that support agility
- Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops (ADO) and/or other agile lifecycle management tools
