OverviewWe are looking for an experienced AV Service Technician to support onsite service, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial, permanently installed AV systems in the Hartford area. This role is for someone with a strong technical background who is comfortable working in the field and handling complex systems.
Candidates from AV integration or service environments are strongly preferred. Advanced-level live event or production experience is also acceptable, provided the candidate has deep technical skills that translate to installed systems.
What You’ll Be Doing- Perform onsite service calls, troubleshooting, and break/fix support for installed AV systems
- Diagnose and resolve audio, video, control, and system-level issues
- Open, review, and modify DSP files to troubleshoot and fine-tune audio systems
- Work with Crestron control systems and coordinate with programmers as needed
- Support networked AV systems, including Dante-based audio environments
- Communicate professionally with clients onsite and document work performed
- Collaborate with internal engineering and service teams
- Strong hands‑on experience supporting installed commercial AV systems
- Background working for an AV integration or AV service company
- Experience with Crestron control systems (service-level troubleshooting)
- Experience working inside DSP files (Biamp and/or QSC)
- Familiarity with Dante and networked audio concepts
- Comfortable working onsite in the field around Hartford, CT
Candidates with live event or production backgrounds will be considered only if they have advanced technical experience, including:
- DSP-based audio workflows using Biamp or QSC
- Control system troubleshooting (Crestron or similar)
- Dante/networked audio environments
- Complex signal flow and system-level troubleshooting
- AVIXA CTS or CTS‑I
- Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms
- Basic AV networking knowledge (VLANs, multicast, IGMP)
- Onsite, field‑based role in the Hartford, CT area
- Commercial AV environments such as corporate offices, education, and enterprise facilities
This is a Contract position based out of Hartford, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr.
