Travelers is seeking an Architect to join our Enterprise Technology Solutions organization. The role focuses on designing and guiding technology vision that enables business transformation, specializing in cloud‑native technologies, APIs, AI/ML, and emerging platforms to create enterprise‑wide solutions.
What Will You Do?- Define architecture within a specific segment or domain for a single business unit.
- Provide architectural direction on technical patterns and target state technology architecture.
- Contribute to technology roadmaps and architectural frameworks.
- Conduct prototyping and proof‑of‑concept work.
- Partner with teams to execute proof of technologies.
- Support technology modernization initiatives and minimize technical debt.
- Build foundational relationships and foster buy‑in.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in technology‑related field or equivalent, with 6 years of engineering experience or 2–3 years of architecture experience.
- Hands‑on architecture or engineering experience with modern technologies.
- Experience in successful modernization initiatives.
- Intermediate leadership skills and ability to foster learning.
- Agile operating model experience and insurance technology experience preferred.
- Understanding of value creation, business capability models, and insurance industry knowledge.
- Strong analytical, decision‑making, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related STEM field, or equivalent education/work experience.
- Additional 4 years of architecture or software engineering experience.
