- You are a hands‑on IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting and supporting complex systems, and you are comfortable working across environments such as People Soft databases and web/application servers to keep things running smoothly.
- You can translate technical issues for non‑technical users and collaborate effectively with developers, database administrators, and business partners to move work forward and resolve problems.
- You have experience with (or a strong interest in learning) enterprise application support tools and practices like change management, code migration, system monitoring, and production support in a structured environment.
- You are detail‑oriented and process‑driven, and take pride in documenting your work, improving procedures, and contributing to reliable, well‑managed systems that support critical business operations.
- Perform People Soft system administration functions in support of the state’s ERP system, Core‑CT.
- Support cloud‑based web and application server infrastructure across Linux and Windows platforms.
- Configure and maintain Oracle Web Logic environments, including Java applications and Oracle database connectivity.
- Coordinate with team members to support the setup, configuration, and maintenance of development, testing, and production environments aligned with Dev Ops practices.
- Administer the Phire application and support source code management activities, including assisting developers with code migration, application security, and deployment processes.
- Monitor and adjust production job schedules for Core‑CT People Soft applications, ensuring changes are documented in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor batch processing and interface activity, analyze issues and coordinate resolution with senior developers and technical staff.
- Assist with People Soft Update Manager (PUM) activities, including applying updates, performing retrofits, and supporting system and user testing.
- Collaborate with database administrators to monitor system performance and implement improvements to application efficiency.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation for system support and issue resolution processes.
- Partner with business units and agencies to support the development and implementation of system interfaces.
- Monitor system interfaces and data exchanges, review logs, and assist in troubleshooting and resolving data or integration issues.
- Five (5) years of experience in information technology (IT) operations support, programming, or a related support area.
- Two (2) years of the general experience performing basic technical support work in areas such as help desk functions, installing and maintaining basic computer hardware and software, data communications, microcomputer support, production control, or programming.
- Experience communicating technical information to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including documenting issues, resolutions, and system changes.
- Experience using an application change management or source code management tool (e.g., Phire, Git, or similar), including promoting code across environments and tracking changes.
- Experience supporting or developing enterprise applications, including performing code modifications, testing, or deployments, preferably in a People Soft environment.
- Experience writing and executing SQL queries for data analysis, troubleshooting, or validation purposes, preferably in an Oracle database environment.
- Experience working with a programming or scripting language (e.g., Java, SQL, Python, or Power Shell), including debugging or modifying existing code.
- Experience supporting systems in both Windows and Linux environments, including basic system administration or troubleshooting tasks.
- Experience analyzing and resolving technical issues, including reviewing system logs, identifying root causes, and coordinating resolution with technical teams.
