Overview
Director Performance Analytics – Auto Liability Claims. The ABI and GL Claims Performance Analytics group seeks a Director to drive claim insights and strategy with a focus on Auto Bodily Injury claims. The role will lead a small team, develop innovative solutions, interpret trends, and deliver actionable insights for the organization. The successful candidate will communicate findings to business segment leadership and partner with Transformation & Optimization Office to enhance claim performance and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities- Translate data into actionable insights and present clear results and recommendations to various levels of business leadership.
- Lead and develop a team of 5-7 Performance Analysts to create, test, and validate Key Performance Indicators, analyze and deliver insights, while elevating the team’s analytical rigor.
- Oversee the creation of advanced leading indicator metrics and analytical frameworks, including the application of advanced statistical methods where appropriate.
- Lead deep‑dive analysis into emerging trends and root cause analysis, explain results and recommendations to Claims and Segment Executive Leadership.
- Develop a deep understanding of the claim process and interactions with overall results.
- Regularly participate in Claim and business segment meetings, serving as a thought partner who challenges assumptions and brings forward new insights.
- Organize and balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Evaluate and integrate new tools or analytical techniques to enhance data insights and performance analytics.
- A minimum of five years of experience in an analytic function within the insurance industry, with expertise in advanced trending analytics and statistics.
- Experience applying advanced quantitative or statistical methods (e.g., regression, segmentation, predictive modeling) in a business setting.
- A minimum of two years in a leadership role successfully developing a team, with a demonstrated ability to coach and elevate analytical thinking.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to translate complex analysis into clear, concise, and compelling insights for executive audiences.
- Extensive analytical experience using limited data to draw insights.
- Documented track record of creating innovative data solutions and a passion for delivering outcomes with an emphasis on insight generation versus reporting.
- Collaborative, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
- Disciplined and structured thought leader who understands customer needs.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or similar platforms, with the ability to move beyond visualization to insight generation.
- Strategic thinker, intellectually curious, transparent in discussing analytics.
- Ability to work independently; excellent judgment and sound decision-making skills.
- Creative problem‑solving mindset with a passion for delivering outcomes.
- Auto Bodily Injury experience or knowledge of actuarial principles is a strong plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, or an equivalent/related degree preferred.
Annualized base pay range: $138,000 – $207,000.
