Job Overview
Travelers is hiring a Sr. Technology Operations Specialist to support infrastructure stability, availability, and performance. The role centers on day-to-day operational health: monitoring systems, executing maintenance, managing service requests, and keeping documentation current. An AI-driven candidate would position themselves as someone who goes beyond reactive maintenance — leveraging AI/ML tools for predictive monitoring, anomaly detection, and automating routine procedures to reduce toil and improve reliability licants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the US.

- Lead monitoring and maintenance of critical technology services and infrastructure platforms, ensuring high availability, stability, and performance while proactively identifying optimization opportunities.
- Execute advanced operational procedures, complex maintenance activities, and system upgrades following established protocols while contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Manage escalated service requests, incidents, and operational issues through ticketing systems, providing expert-level troubleshooting and resolution while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures to ensure comprehensive and up-to-date service delivery processes.
- Perform advanced monitoring, analysis, and reporting using enterprise monitoring tools to identify trends, predict potential issues, and recommend proactive measures for operational excellence.
- Conduct complex troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution for infrastructure platforms and technology services, implementing sustainable solutions and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to drive service improvements, ensure adherence to service level agreements, and support strategic operational initiatives.
Three (3) years of technology operations/system administration experience preferred.
Technical
Skills:
- Distributed Systems – Experience using AI-powered observability platforms (e.g., Dynatrace, Datadog with ML insights) to manage cloud workloads intelligently across nodes. Strong understanding of distributed systems, including cloud infrastructure, network protocols, and managing workloads across multiple servers or nodes.
- Windows Server – Experience using AI-assisted configuration management to predict cycles and performance degradation patterns. Experience with managing and maintaining Windows Servers, including configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and security management.
- Linux Proficiency – Shell scripting experience to build automation pipelines that feed operational data into AI dashboards or self-healing scripts. Experience managing and maintaining Linux environments.
- Mainframe Knowledge – Experience with mainframe technologies is beneficial for legacy systems or critical applications.
- Operational Awareness – Experience with AI-assisted incident triage, pattern recognition, and decision-support tools to stay ahead of issues, focusing on uptime, efficiency, and problem-solving.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Able to work independently.
- Two (2) years of experience in a technology operations or related role.
