The SQL Server Database Architect will be responsible for designing, evaluating, and optimizing enterprise-scale database solutions that support critical business initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, relational database design, and database architecture. The ideal candidate will lead database design efforts, establish architectural standards, and ensure scalability, performance, security, and maintainability across complex data environments. This position plays a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making, application performance, and long-term platform growth.

- Design and architect enterprise-grade SQL Server database solutions.
- Evaluate and optimize existing database structures, schemas, and relationships.
- Create logical and physical data models aligned with business requirements.
- Design highly efficient tables, indexes, constraints, and database objects.
- Establish database architecture standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with application architects, developers, and business stakeholders.
- Ensure database scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Support data integration, reporting, and analytics initiatives.
- Review and modernize existing database environments to improve performance and maintainability.
- Produce technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and database design standards.
- 10+ years of database architecture and design experience.
- Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
- Expert-level knowledge of Relational Database Design.
- Expert-level knowledge of Data Modeling.
- Expert-level knowledge of Database Architecture.
- Expert-level knowledge of Performance Tuning and Optimization.
- Proven experience designing complex database schemas and table structures.
- Strong understanding of normalization, indexing strategies, and data integrity principles.
- Experience reviewing and modernizing existing database environments.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure SQL technologies.

The base range for this contract position starts at $75 / per hour
, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
